Farewell to Pauline Davies
Mrs Pauline Davies leaves Wycombe Abbey at the end of the summer term 2008 after ten years as Headmistress. During her tenure the school went from strength to strength, maintaining its exceptional academic performance and improving its excellent facilities and opportunities for extra curricular activity. Mrs Davies brought a strong pastoral emphasis to the school and will be missed by staff, girls, Seniors and all who worked with her.
The Seniors' Association President, baroness Howe of Idlicote, gave Mrs Davies a leaving present on behalf of Seniors and Honorary Seniors at the June Executive Committee in the House of Lords

Pauline Davies wrote the following in her letter of thanks to the Seniors:
I hope that you will be able to pass on my enormous gratitude for the overwhelmingly generous gifts from the Seniors. The lovely flowers which look magnificent in two vases would have been more than adequate. I was very touched by what was written. However, you will not be able to comprehend fully my utter amazement and disbelief when I opened the envelope containing the cheque. To be given such a large sum of money to spend on "something lovely to enjoy" is a fantastic treat and I cannot thank you all adequately.
A few of my colleagues have had rather bruising encounters with their old girls' associations and I was quite apprehensive when I joined Wycombe. I need not have worried though because everyone has been so charming, kindly and welcoming that it has been a real pleasure to meet many Seniors over the years. To be invited to be a Vice President is a tremendous honour and I look forward to a continuing association with you all.
